Eos. Commentarii Societatis Philologae Polonorum is a peer-reviewed biannual journal devoted to the study of Greek and Roman antiquity and the classical tradition. Founded in 1894 in Lwów (now Lviv) by Ludwik Ćwikliński, and published by the Polish Philological Association (Societas Philologa Polonorum), Eos is one of the longest-established scholarly periodicals in Classical Studies.

The journal welcomes articles in  ancient Greek and Roman literature. linguistics, ancient history, philosophy, religion, textual criticism, epigraphy, papyrology, and related areas of classical scholarship as well as on the transmission and reception of classical antiquity in later periods. While open to a broad range of critical and historical approaches, Eos remains firmly rooted in the best traditions of learned philological inquiry. Eos is especially committed to work distinguished by philological precision, close engagement with primary sources, and methodological rigour.

Submissions are accepted in English, German, French, Italian, and Latin.

Eos is intended primarily for scholars, researchers, and advanced students in Classical Studies and related disciplines and seeks to promote scholarly exchange among all those engaged in the serious study of the ancient world and its enduring legacy.

The editorial office is currently based at the Institute of Classical, Mediterranean and Oriental Studies, University of Wrocław, Poland.
